RIP Carmen Congelli #21
On Saturday, March 19, 2011, Carmen Congelli, a member of the 2010 Rebels U18 team lost her 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. We are proud and lucky to have Carmen as a member of our Rebels family. She was a courageous and spirited softball player and one of the toughest people you will ever know. Throughout her battle, she maintained a strong attitude, will and competitive fire while playing the game she loved.
An example of her desire was that she was playing softball less than 1 week before she passed. Also, in her last tournament as a Rebel, and probably her last game ever, she fought hard in a 3 hour game with the Rebels in New Jersey in the 100 degree heat and humidity. She not only played a strong infield but also hit over .500 for the tournament, all while battling this terrible disease.
Please keep Ray and Joanne Congelli in your prayers. You will be missed by your many family and friends.
Since 2015, the Mid-Hudson Rebels have been awarding the Carmen Congelli Memorial Fund award to a deserving Rebels player.
